Terms of Service

Effective October 8, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Tyler Cooper, a sole proprietor in Ontario, Canada, who runs Ples ("Ples", "we", "us"). They apply when you use Ples's website, storefronts, directory, emails, API or Claude Code plugin. By creating an account or using Ples, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Ples.

1. What Ples does

Ples helps people who built an app ("builders") sell it to customers ("buyers"). We provide storefronts, checkout through Stripe, customer accounts, an access gate for the builder's app, a public directory, and tools that help builders write and run their storefront.

The builder is the seller. When a buyer pays for an app, the sale is between the buyer and that builder, under the builder's own terms, privacy policy and refund policy shown on their storefront. Ples isn't the seller or the maker of builders' apps and doesn't guarantee them.

2. Your account

  • One Ples account works for both buying and selling.
  • Give accurate information, keep your password private, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
  • You're responsible for what happens under your account, including through tools you connect, like Claude Code.
  • To sell on Ples you must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live). To buy, you must be able to enter a contract where you live, or have a parent or guardian's permission.

3. For builders

  • You must own your app or have the right to sell it, and it must be legal where you sell it.
  • Describe your app honestly. You're responsible for everything on your storefront, including text and images that Ples's AI tools helped you write. Check drafts before you publish them.
  • You're responsible for your app working as described, supporting your customers, and honouring your refund policy.
  • You're responsible for your own taxes, including collecting and paying sales tax where required, and for any business registration you need.
  • Payments go to your own Stripe account. Stripe's terms apply to that account, and Stripe decides whether to approve it and when to pay you out.
  • Ples visits your app's public address to draft your storefront, check your hosting and database, and check that it's online. We only look at what any visitor's browser can see.

4. Fees

Ples keeps a fee of 10% of each payment a buyer makes to a builder, taken automatically through Stripe. Stripe's own processing fees also apply. Free plans cost nothing. We'll give builders at least 30 days' notice by email before raising our fee.

5. For buyers

  • You buy each app from its builder. Questions about an app, and refund requests, go to that builder first.
  • Monthly plans renew until you cancel. You can cancel any time from the app's account page and keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
  • Your card details are handled by Stripe. Ples never sees your full card number.
  • If a builder stops selling an app, the access you already bought continues as long as their app keeps running; Ples can't keep a builder's app running for them.

6. Web addresses

Builders can use a free Ples address (like name.helpmeples.com) or a domain they own. Free addresses belong to Ples; we may take one back if it's misleading, infringes someone's rights, or isn't in use. Builders are responsible for their own domains and their DNS settings.

7. AI features

Some Ples features use AI to draft storefront text, stories and prices. AI can be wrong, so treat its output as a draft. Each builder account has a daily allowance of AI requests.

8. Things you must not do

  • Sell or link to anything illegal, harmful, deceptive, or that infringes someone else's rights.
  • Pretend to be someone else, or use Ples to collect people's passwords or payment details.
  • Attack, overload, scrape, or try to get around the security or limits of Ples or anyone's app.
  • Use Ples to send spam.

We may remove content, pause a storefront, or close an account that breaks these terms or puts buyers, builders or Ples at risk. Where we can, we'll tell you why first.

9. Ending your account

You can stop using Ples at any time. Email hello@helpmeples.com to close your account. Builders should retire their storefronts first so no one keeps paying for something that has closed.

10. No guarantees

We work hard to keep Ples running and secure, but it's provided "as is". We don't promise it will always be available or free of errors. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.

11. Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, Ples isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or data, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of the fees you paid Ples in the 12 months before the claim and CA$100.

12. Builders' responsibility to us

If someone makes a claim against Ples because of a builder's app, storefront content, or how they treated their customers, that builder agrees to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.

13. Changes

We may update these terms as Ples changes. If a change is significant, we'll email account holders before it takes effect. Using Ples after that means you accept the new terms.

14. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes go to the courts of Ontario, unless the law where you live gives you the right to use your local courts.

15. Contact

Questions about these terms: hello@helpmeples.com. How we handle personal information is in our Privacy Policy.
